VARROA JAR FILTER ALCOHOL WASH KIT

​This jar lid was developed for monitoring varroa mite concentration in bee populations.  For this purpose a sample of 300 bees would be placed in the plastic jar on one side, enough isporopy (rubbing) alcohol solution on the other side to cover the bees.  Shake the jar back and forth white creating a vortex to dislodge mites from the bees.  The mites are then able to pass through the grid and are collected in the opposite jar.  Looking through the bottom of the clear jar, you are able to get an accurate count on your mites.
